→ Do you wonder why your care went in the direction it did?

→ Does it feel overwhelming to ask for support for your well-being?

→ Have you survived someone mistreating you or your body when you were seeking care?

→ Have you lived through painful moments in which your body was not treated the way it should have been, or what happened to you was not in your control?

support if you have not been treated the way that you should have been

Trauma therapy can help support you while navigating systems of care.

Here, we believe how you’ve been feeling and what you’ve been coping with.

Working with a trauma-trained therapist creates a supportive, non-judgmental space to better understand you and your unique lived experiences.

Trauma therapy provides an evidence-based framework to explore the type of relationship you would like with your body and pathways to access those feelings.

Support, compassion, and evidence-based treatment for trauma, including difficulties related to navigating the medical system.

you are not alone!

Unfortunately, the systems of care around us cannot always best meet our needs, even when amazing clinicians do their very best. With a documented need for more providers and a system still struggling with bias and misogyny, it can be a challenge to receive the type of care we deserve, and in some cases, harm can happen. For many, it is a full time job to navigate systems of care and attempt to find support for themselves or those they love.

Our work together

In our work together, we will identify how what you have coped with has impacted you emotionally, physically, relationally, spiritually…

Our focus will be collaboratively defined, and we will move at a pace that works best for you.

The work we will do will be designed with the impacts of trauma in mind, using interventions and techniques that have been shown to alleviate some of the common psychological symptoms of trauma, helping you come back to a place of comfort within yourself.

  • Very important point! What we can do in therapy is to help identify the systems that aren’t working (and are possibly causing harm) and then develop systems of support, starting with your own emotional experience. Systemic harm, or institutional betrayal, can cause so much emotional pain, this can be an important piece of the puzzle.

  • There are many institutions that we are taught to trust to help take care of us in our world. When we turn to one of these institutions for help and the institution does not provide support or prevent harm from occurring, the resulting psychological impact can be quite painful. Research is exploring links between this type of betrayal and increased risk of psychological and physical impact.

  • Therapy is a space for you to determine what matters most to you, and how to support you in feeling that way. There is no pressure. We are here for you, and we collaborate so our work is guided by your priorities. Resolving and caring for the impacts of medical trauma is an amazing pathway for therapy, and there is no stress for it to include anything else. We are here to support and care for you.

How do i know that it’s the right time to seek support?

find freedom from emotional pain and suffering through our work together.
