The Cycle Book

AN INTERACTIVE STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE TO TRACKING HORMONES AND KNOWING YOUR BODY

Most of us just haven’t been taught to be aware of our bodies.

We’ve been trained to actively ignore our body’s signals for so long that we don’t know which way is up. The experience of self-advocacy in our current social and medical system requires immense emotional labor. How can we be the experts when the world around us claims knowledge and power over our bodies?

The Cycle Book is here to remind you that you’re in charge.

Written with my friend and colleague, the amazing Morgan Miller, The Cycle Book is a tracking guide for everyone who menstruates.

In our personal lives and our practices, we tried to find answers to the questions we, and our clients, had about our bodies and our cycles. We tried to share spreadsheets, tracking apps that didn’t seem that bad, and sent each other books with caveats about their paternalistic tones.

We were so discouraged and deflated by the lack of resources available for ourselves, and for our clients, that we dreamed up The Cycle Book.

HOW CAN WE ADVOCATE FOR OURSELVES IF WE DON’T KNOW OUR OWN BODIES?

WE ARE TOLD THAT OUR SYMPTOMS ARE ISOLATED AND SHOULDN’T CAUSE AS MUCH EMOTION AS THEY DO.

The Cycle Book validates the connection between mental health and our bodies. That includes our sexuality, our identity, our fertility (the whole spectrum of it), our medical choices, and our bodily agency.

Inaccurate apps that don’t protect our health data while putting our reproductive history at risk have done millions of us wrong. Now, there is a better way.

Together and in our own practices, we focus on realistic and effective ways to listen to and understand our bodies.

We’ve created useful tools and developed methods to help cope with dissociation, anxiety, worry, disgust, shame, and sensory overwhelm while listening to the body.

Complete with tracking prompts and a full year’s worth of beautiful, simple-to-use cycle tracking forms, this is daily charting made easy.

WE HAVEN’T BEEN GIVEN THE INFORMATION WE NEED TO CONNECT WITH OUR BODIes

The current conversation around cycle tracking is largely medicalized, gendered, and heteronormative. This leaves many people out of the conversation altogether.

This reductive, fertility-focused lens has altered the broader scope around menstruation, hormonal shifts, and the body. We’re viewing our bodies and ourselves in an incomplete manner. We’re ignoring how interconnected our body systems are and how cyclic hormones interplay in all levels of being.

The Cycle Book offers a direct pathway to reclaiming ownership over our bodies.

You decide what to track, and The Cycle Book will help you step-by-step. You decide what you do with the amazing data you gather. It’s your story to tell.
